Teachers Panel Voices Against Funds Violation and Wrong Promotions
August 29, 2013

At a press conference of the Joint Action Committee of Teachers (JAC), on August 28, 2013, the speakers highlighted long pending demands of the teachers and the alleged prevailing malpractices in the education department.

The main agendas discussed at the conference included the alleged violation of financial norms, under which the education department had withdrawn crores of rupees from the government treasury and then transferred it to schools for purchase of uniforms. However, the company to which the tender was floated submitted a false affidavit in the current session and failed to maintain the quality of the uniforms.
The committee has demanded stern action regarding the pending issues and appealed to the teaching community to assemble in the Rally Ground, Sector 25 on August 30 at 4:30 pm to find solutions to the problems at the earliest.
