Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to visit Punjab

The Punjab and Chandigarh body of the Art of Living held a press conference on October 15, 2013 to announce the series of the events scheduled during Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's Punjab tour from October 18-22.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar will be visiting Punjab after three years to address the masses on social issues concerning the region, including drug-addiction, female foeticide and facilitating better methods of farming among farmers. The main purpose behind the visit is to reach out to the rural youth and farmers.

On October 18, he will visit Sikhiya School to speak on the culmination of the Advance Course of Art of Living. The programme is being organised for course participants only. On October 19, a state-level youth programme 'Volunteer for Better Punjab' will take place at Anandpur Sahib in SGPC Ground to address youth from all over the state. The event aims to empower youngsters in order to tackle the menace of drugs and female foeticide by providing practical solutions along with the state government's assistance.

During the press conference, Umesh Ghai, chairman of the Punjab and Chandigarh apex body said, "After a long gap Sri Ravi Shankar is coming to Punjab. Lakhs of devotees are looking forward to the visit of their spiritual master."
