Chandigarh Teacher Nominated For NGO Award

India International Friendship Society, New Delhi (a voluntary organization) has selected Vinod Kumar Sharma, headmaster, Government Model High School, Sector 34, Chandigarh for the "Shiksha Rattan Puraskar" along with "Certificate of excellence" for his dedication and his achievements in the field of education, academics, innovative issues and health etc.

Dr Sharma holds a degree of PhD in language faculty. He has done a critical study of Sarasvat Vyakaran conferred by the Panjab University, Chandigarh in the year 1990-91. Moreover, he also holds a post-graduate degree in Sanskrit and Hindi from the Panjab University.
Dr Sharma started his career as a lecturer in Dhanwantri College in the year 1978. In 1979 he started working in the education department, Chandigarh. Sharma joined GMHS-34 as headmaster in 2011. He has also been elected as president of Chandigarh Government Teachers Union (GTU), an organization of teachers of government schools in city.
