Workshop on Short Film Making

The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) held a workshop on short film making at St Kabir Public School, Chandigarh. Students from five schools of the city participated enthusiastically in the workshop conducted by Wesley Jefferson, a technical expert on film making from United Kingdom, who taught the students the finer nuances of creating and editing short films.

The students came up with interesting ideas and themes for their presentations. Each school produced a minimum of five short movies that shall be uploaded on the internet and shared with schools across countries.

Purnima Datt, Principal and Director of Heritage, Education and Communication Services of INTACH coordinated the event and gave the students an insight into what our heritage comprises of and how it can be conveyed through the medium of a short film. Geetika Kalha, IAS, financial commissioner and Principal Secretary to government of Punjab, Department of Cultural Affairs, shared her enthusiasm for cultural heritage and the power of the multimedia to help conserve it.
