monsoon diet
• Juicy Fruits :
In the monsoon season, fruits are the ideal source of energy and they should be a part of your diet. Wash them thoroughly to avoid the ingestion of any harmful pesticides or germs. Remember that gorging can be harmful especially in the monsoon season. So whichever fruit you decide to eat, do have it in small quantity or with intervals of say one hour as the digestion process will be quite slow.
• Diet Rich in Antioxidants :
Antioxidants are good for the skin. They take care of the dullness, patchiness and help in evening out the skin tone. Bitter vegetables like karela (bitter gourd) and bitter herbs like neem and haldi (turmeric) contain antioxidants and medicinal properties that aid the immune system and keep infections at bay. Making them a part of your diet can prove helpful.
• Easy Digestives :
Go for easy to-digest food products that are prepared using stomach friendly ingredients like garlic, pepper, hing (asafetida), ginger, jeera, haldi and coriander. These food ingredients promote digestion
and prevent bloating, which is quite common in the monsoon season.
• Sprouts :
Sprouts are a rich source of enzymes, minerals and vitamins. They can be easily

made at home. They are a rich source of vitamin C, which is helpful in eliminating toxins from the body. The good thing about sprouts is that they have anti-aging properties. Thus, they should be a pick of every woman.
• Pumpkin Seeds :
Pumpkin seeds have a powerful skin-beautifying effect. The seeds are a rich

source of minerals, zinc and essential fatty acids including omega 3, omega 6 and omega 9. You can have pumpkin seeds either by sprinkling them on salads or in smoothies.
• Avocados :
Avocado is a creamy yet delicious fruit to have. It is a healthy dose of vitamins and antioxidants. The fruit can be consumed either in the raw form or by adding it with food items like smoothies, curd, shake and roti (chapatti).

• Yogurt :
Yogurt aids the digestive system and is a rich source of calcium, which promotes healthy nails and teeth. One can have yogurt in breakfast by mixing it with fruit or granola. Yogurt can also be consumed as a mid-afternoon snack.
• Don’t Skip Water :
Don’t get fooled by the weather. Even if the weather is pleasant and the sun is hiding somewhere in the clouds, you need to have at least six glasses of water on a daily basis. Insufficient intake of water will only make the skin dry, tight and flaky.
